Vallejo Man Dies after Struck by Big Rig on Highway 99 in Ceres

 
CERES, CA (September 12, 2022) – A man was hit and killed by a big rig on Highway 99 in Ceres on Saturday afternoon, September 10.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:15 p.m. at Hatch Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 28-year-old Vallejo man entered the traffic lane and walked in front of a tractor-trailer rig on Highway 99.
 
The driver of the big rig, 63-year-old William Hutton of Stockton, was heading north approaching Hatch Road. He was unable to stop in time and struck the male pedestrian.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
At this time, authorities did not release the identity of the victim. An investigation is ongoing.
