Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Semi Truck on Tenaya Drive in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (March 6, 2024) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Tenaya Drive in Modesto Tuesday afternoon on March 5.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:00 p.m. just west of Mitchell Road near Modesto Airport. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding his 1992 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Tenaya Drive when he crossed over a double yellow line to overtake a dark-colored coupe.
 
At the same time, 44-year-old Shane Hebnera of Manteca was driving a 2023 Freightliner eastbound on Tenaya Drive.
 
The motorcyclist hit the driver side of the semi and fell off his bike and onto the road.
 
Paramedics arrived and rushed the motorcyclist to Memorial Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
 
Meanwhile, Hebnera was unharmed.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, officers said everyone was wearing proper safety equipment during the crash.
 
An investigation is underway.
