Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Long Beach Boulevard Involves SUV

 
LONG BEACH, CA (June 21, 2021) – A man died in a motorcycle accident at Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 1:40 p.m. on June 19. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding a 2006 Yamaha YZ450F motocross motorcycle northbound on Long Beach Boulevard. For unknown reasons, he collided with a Toyota RAV4 that was making a left turn from southbound Long Beach to eastbound Wardlow.
 
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries. Responding paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. His name was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
 
The driver of the SUV, a 23-year-old Long Beach woman, remained on scene and cooperated with the police.

It is unknown at this time if speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision.

The CHP and the Long Beach Police Department are investigating the cause of the accident.
