Jose Reyes Morales Killed in DUI Accident on Keyes Road [Stanislaus County, CA]

DUI Suspected in Fatal Crash at Keyes Road and Mountain View Road

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (June 21, 2021) – Jose M. Reyes Morales died in a DUI accident near Keyes area late Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened around 10:10 p.m. on June 20, at the intersection of Keyes Road and Mountain View Road. According the California Highway Patrol, the victim from Merced was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry and was stopped on southbound Mountain View at the intersection’s stop sign.
 
For unknown reasons, Reyes Morales pulled into the path of a 1998 Toyota 4Runner, driven by
Favio Valencia Jr. of Patterson. There are no stop signs on Keyes Road at the intersection.
 
The 4Runner struck the driver’s side of the Camry, ejecting Reyes Morales from the car.
 
As a result, Reyes Morales suffered severe injuries and died at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
 
Paramedics also took Valencia to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
The ages of the men were not immediately available.
 
This fatal crash remains under investigation, and alcohol consumption by Reyes appears to have been a factor, the CHP said.
