67-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Minivan on Cannon Road near 5 Freeway Off-Ramp

 
CARLSBAD, CA (January 19, 2023) – A 67-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident on Cannon Road, Tuesday afternoon.
 
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, the incident happened on January 17, at about 4:45 p.m. An eastbound Kawasaki motorcycle reportedly entered the intersection against a red light.
 
Then, the motorcyclist collided with a Toyota minivan near 5 Freeway off-ramp.
 
The impact of the collision ejected the rider from the motorcycle.
 
Emergency crews transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the 72-year-old minivan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
