Michael Russ Arrested, Woman Dead in Hit-and-Run Accident on Prescott Road near Standiford Avenue

 
MODESTO, CA (January 19, 2023) — Officials arrested 60-year-old Michael Russ, of Modesto, after a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday, January 17.
 
According to the Modesto Police Department, the incident happened around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. A GMC Yukon driven by Russ hit a 65-year-old woman walking across Prescott Road near Standiford Avenue. She died on the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after hitting the woman. Through the help of witnesses, officials found Russ a few blocks away. Then they arrested him.
 
According to the department, they charged Russ with manslaughter, murder, and felonies for a hit-and-run and DUI.
