Rider Dies after Colliding with SUV on Broadway in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 2, 2022) – A man died in a motorcycle accident at Broadway and Alamitos Avenue early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 2:13 a.m. on January 1. According to reports, the man was riding his motorcycle at a high rate of speed. He then struck an SUV that was stopped at the red light at the intersection.
 
As a result of the crash, the man suffered significant injuries. Responding fire crews rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.
 
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office withheld his identity pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the occupants of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
At this time, this fatality is still under investigation.
