Rider Dies after Running Red Light, Colliding with Car in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (August 10, 2022) – A man died in a motorcycle accident near Avenue J-8 and 25th Street West in Lancaster on Sunday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:10 p.m. on August 7. According to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, the man was riding his Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Avenue J-8. At the same time, a male adult was driving a Toyota northbound on 25th Street West.
 
The motorcyclist failed to stop at a red signal light and collided into the Toyota in the intersection.
 
Paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to a hospital, where he later died. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office only described the victim as someone in his 20s.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Speed does not appear to be a factor and the Toyota’s driver was determined to not be under the influence.
