Fiery Car Crash on Highway 63 in Orange Cove Kills 2 People

 
ORANGE COVE, CA (August 10, 2022) – Two people were killed in a fiery car accident on Highway 63 in Orange Cove on Monday afternoon, August 8.
 
The fatal accident happened just after Noon near Manning Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota 4Runner SUV ran a stop sign and drove into the path of a commercial big rig.
 
The big rig then struck the SUV, causing both vehicles to overturn multiple times. The SUV then caught fire.
 
Good Samaritans rushed to help, but were unable to pull free the two occupants from the burning SUV.
 
The two people in the SUV both died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig only sustained minor injuries. He was transported to a Tulare County hospital for proper treatment.
 
DUI is not suspected in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
