Police Arrest Teen after Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash Involving Two Vehicles on Nieman Boulevard in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (April 4, 2024) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Nieman Boulevard in San Jose early Wednesday morning on April 3.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:12 a.m. near Elkins Way. According to the San Jose Police Department, a black 2017 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed north on Nieman and ran through a stop sign. It then struck a white 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup truck heading west.
 
As a result of the crash, the man driving the pickup truck suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office withheld the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
The suspected driver of the Camaro, a minor in their teens, fled the scene but was found and arrested later in the morning.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
