Man Killed, Jordan Hill and Jared Lomeli Hurt in Rollover Accident on Chicago Avenue [Modesto, CA]

Off-Road Vehicle Overturns in Modesto Killing 1 Passenger and Injuring 2 Others

 
MODESTO, CA (October 2, 2023) – A man was killed in a rollover accident on Chicago Avenue in Modesto Saturday afternoon on September 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:45 p.m. just west of South Carpenter Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 15-year-old boy was driving a 2022 Can-Am off-road vehicle west on Chicago Avenue when he tried to do a U-turn and lost control.
 
The vehicle overturned, killing one of its passengers. Authorities only identified the victim as a 20-year-old Modesto man.
 
Two other passengers, 19-year-old Jordan Hill and 21-year-old Jaren Lomeli, were injured.
 
Paramedics transported Hill to Doctors Medical Center for treatment. Lomeli was treated at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver was unharmed. His name was withheld because he is a minor.
 
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have factored in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
