Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Second Street in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (December 5, 2022) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Second Street in Long Beach early Sunday morning on December 4.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:00 a.m. at Marina Drive. According to the Long Beach Police Department, a vehicle was going eastbound on Second Street, and as it crossed the bridge from Appian Way, it struck a man who was crossing northbound outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
The vehicle then fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
 
Responding officers found the man lying in the eastbound lanes of Second Street suffering from critical injuries.
 
Paramedics also arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
No identification is available at this time. An investigation is underway.
