Homeless Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Sherman Way in Valley Glen

 
VALLEY GLEN, CA (June 20, 2023) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sherman Way in Valley Glen early Monday morning on June 19.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:00 a.m. near the Bellaire Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, an older-model white van struck the man who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk.
 
After striking the victim, the van temporarily stopped in a nearby shopping center before leaving the scene.
 
The victim, only described as someone in his 30s or 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities also added that he was homeless.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
 
Police are searching the area for any surveillance video that may help in the investigation.
