Pedestrian Pushing Shopping Cart Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on Hubbard Street in Sylmar

 
SYLMAR, CA (April 23, 2023) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Hubbard Street in the Sylmar area early Friday morning on April 21.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:50 a.m. just west of Adelphia Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man in his 40s was walking on the north side of Hubbard, pushing a shopping cart, when a dark-colored sedan struck him.
 
After striking the victim, the sedan continued westbound and stopped near the area of Hubbard Street and Dronfield Avenue, where the driver momentarily exited the car. She then re-entered the vehicle and drove away.
 
The pedestrian suffered significant injuries and died at the hospital. He was not yet identified.
 
Police described the hit-and-run driver as a woman in her 20s.
 
The city of Los Angeles offered a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information that helps solve this case.
