Hit-and-Run Crash on Buck Owens Boulevard in Bakersfield Leaves Man Dead

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 31, 2024) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Buck Owens Boulevard in Bakersfield Friday evening on March 29.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing Buck Owens Boulevard outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle around 9:21 p.m.
 
The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the crash.
 
The man, whose identity was not immediately available, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police said the vehicle that struck the victim was a white hatchback. They asked witnesses or anyone with information about the case to call BPD at 661-327-7111.
