Early Morning Head-On Crash on Highway 78 in Ramona Kills One Driver

 
RAMONA, CA (November 27, 2022) – A man was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 78 in Ramona early Friday morning on November 25.
 
The accident happened just before 5:00 a.m. just east of Ramona Trails Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was driving a Honda Civic eastbound on the highway. At the same time, a 22-year-old Ramona man was driving a Nissan Altima westbound.
 
The Nissan entered the eastbound lane and collided head-on with the Honda.
 
As a result of the crash, the man driving the Honda suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was only identified as a 62-year-old La Mesa resident.
 
The man driving the Nissan sustained minor injuries.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
