Motorcyclist Dies in Crash after Running Red Light on Heritage Road in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (November 27, 2022) – A woman died in a motorcycle accident at Heritage Road and Avenida Escaya in Chula Vista on Saturday morning.
 
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on November 26. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the female motorcyclist ran a red light at the intersection. She then struck the side of a compact SUV with had entered the intersection on a green light.
 
First responders rushed the 34-year-old woman to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where she later died.
 
Meanwhile, the occupants in the SUV did not sustain injuries. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Officers determined the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. However, test results are still pending for the motorcyclist.
