Man Dies in 2-Car Crash on Buckman Springs Road in Campo

 
CAMPO, CA (April 11, 2023) — A man died in a head-on accident on Buckman Springs Road near Corral Canyon Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle crash occurred around 2:25 p.m. Friday in the rural East County area. For unknown reasons, a 35-year-old man operating a white 2015 Toyota Tacoma in the northbound lane veered into the opposing lane. Subsequently, the 2015 Tacoma crashed into a maroon 1997 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 62-year-old man.
 
As a result of the crash, the 62-year-old man driving the maroon Tacoma suffered fatal injuries. Paramedics took the 35-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman riding in the maroon Tacoma to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
Traffic investigators did not release the name of the victim. However, we will update this report with more information if we acquire any.
