Fiery Crash on Via De La Valle in Rancho Santa Fe Kills Driver and Injures Passenger

 
RANCHO SANTA FE, CA (February 22, 2023) – A man died in a fiery accident on Via De La Valle in Rancho Santa Fe Sunday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. on February 19. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Toyota Camry when he veered off the roadway and slammed into a tree. The car then burst into flames.
 
As a result, the male driver died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The passenger was rushed to the UC San Diego Medical Center with burn injuries.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
