Man Dies in Electric Scooter Crash at 7th Street in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (September 29, 2022) — A man died in an electric scooter accident at 7th Street and Chestnut Avenue on Tuesday.
 
According to the Long Beach Fire Department, the fatal scooter accident happened around 7:10 a.m. Upon receiving a report, Long Beach Police responded to find Good Samaritans rendering aid to a male on the road.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel responded and took the victim to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. Authorities have not released his name.
 
In the investigation, Long Beach Police determined that the man on the electric scooter ran a red traffic light while traveling westbound on 7th Street. The scooter then collided with a northbound 2018 Chrysler 300, whose driver, a 59-year-old woman, stayed at the scene for police questioning.
