Man Killed in DUI Crash on Highway 101 near Story Road [San Jose, CA]

63-Year-Old Man Dies after Crashing into Overturned Pickup Truck on Highway 101 in San Jose, DUI Suspect Arrested

 
SAN JOSE, CA (February 22, 2023) – A man was killed in a DUI crash on Highway 101 in San Jose early Sunday morning on February 19.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:20 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway, just south of Story Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 63-year-old man was driving a silver 2009 Toyota Camry when he crashed into a 1999 red GMC Sierra truck that had rolled over minutes earlier.
 
The impact caused the Camry’s driver fatal injuries and he died at the scene. Authorities withheld his identity at this time.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck escaped injury and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
