82-Year-Old Man Killed, 6-Year-Old Boy Injured in Scripps Ranch Car Accident on Scripps Poway Parkway

 
SCRIPPS RANCH, CA (December 17, 2023) – A man died and a child suffered injuries in a car accident on Scripps Poway Parkway, Thursday evening.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened on December 14, at about 5:40 p.m. A 2023 Tesla Model Y reportedly failed to negotiate the right bend in the road. Then, the vehicle hit the south curb of the center island.
 
The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to lose control and crash into multiple trees. As per reports, the driver was ejected from the vehicle.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the 82-year-old driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, a 6-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries, including a laceration to his head.
