Fatal Car Accident Reported on Rancho Bernardo Road at Acena Drive in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 20, 2022) – Police confirmed that a man died in a bizarre car accident on Rancho Bernardo Road on February 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Acena Drive around 5:24 AM.
 
Based on a report, the man was driving a 2000 Lexus eastbound on Rancho Bernardo at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he veered to the right and struck a parked vehicle. In the end, four other cars became part of the crash. An assessment showed the man may have been using a knife to mix protein powder into a container of water when he crashed. The impact deployed the car’s airbag and it may have propelled the knife into the man’s neck.
 
As a result, the victim suffered major injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he died. The San Diego Police only identified him as a 28-year-old man.
 
At this point, an investigation is still ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
