Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Pacific Avenue in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (October 30, 2023) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on Pacific Avenue in Long Beach Saturday afternoon on October 28.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:20 p.m. at Wardlow Road. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the man was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle in front of the Metro A Line station.
 
When officers arrived, they found the bicyclist lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the bicyclist to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
The woman driving the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
The LBPD shut down Pacific Avenue at Wardlow Road for the crash investigation.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
