Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Sacramento City Garbage Truck on Deer Lake Drive

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 24, 2022) – A man died in a bicycle accident at Deer Lake Drive and La Tarriga Way on Monday morning, May 23.
 
The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. in a residential neighborhood in the Valley Hi and North Laguna area. According to the Sacramento Police Department, the man was riding his bicycle when a Sacramento garbage truck hit him.
 
The impact caused the bicyclist major injuries. Arriving paramedics attempted saving him, but he died at the scene.
