Man Dies in 2-Car Crash on Niles Boulevard in Fremont

 
FREMONT, CA (February 9, 2023) — A man died in Monday’s 2-car accident on Niles Boulevard and Hillview Drive.
 
According to Fremont police officers, the two-car crash happened around 8:27 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 19-year-old Fremont man heading southbound on Niles Boulevard crashed into the driver’s side of a second car, driven by a 53-year-old Modesto man. It appears the second vehicle was heading eastbound before it made a left-hand turn onto Niles Boulevard. Both cars struck an unoccupied parked vehicle, sending the second car to hit and damage a nearby home.
 
Fremont Fire Department responded soon after and tried to rescue the Modesto man, but he died moments later. The 19-year-old was taken to a nearby trauma center for non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Marking as Fremont’s first fatal crash of the year, the accident might have involved alcohol or drugs, police suspect. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
