Man Hospitalized, Woman Detained in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 50 in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 25, 2023) — A man was injured in a wrong-way accident on Highway 50 near 5th Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday. For possible DUI-related reasons, a 27-year-old woman operating a Nissan SUV in the No. 1 lane was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 50. Subsequently, her Nissan collided with an eastbound Honda sedan, driven by a man.
As a result of the collision, the male Honda driver suffered major injuries, including a broken leg. Meanwhile, police arrested the Nissan driver on suspicion of DUI.
