56-Year-Old Man in Wheelchair Dies after Struck by Car in North Hollywood

 
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA (September 25, 2023) – Peter Arata was hit and killed by a vehicle in North Hollywood Friday morning on September 22.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:00 a.m. on Lankershim Boulevard near Strathern Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Arata was crossing the street in a wheelchair when a motorist heading southbound on Lankershim struck him.
 
Arata suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 56 years old from Los Angeles.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
