Man Hurt in Scooter Crash on Cypress Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 1, 2021) — A man was injured in a scooter accident on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard Tuesday night.
According to the San Diego Police, the accident happened around 10:55 p.m. east of Highway 163.
Under unclear circumstances, the man riding the southbound motorized scooter collided with the right front door of a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV that entered westbound on Cypress Avenue without yielding.
As a result, the scooter rider suffered a fractured skull, contusions on both lungs, a broken hip and other injuries. Meanwhile, the 62-year-old driver of the Chevrolet stayed at the scene and avoided harm.
