SANTA MARIA, CA (July 1, 2021) – Police arrested a driver after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 on June 29.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Main Street shortly before 3:00 PM.
 
Based on reports, a sedan was heading southbound on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it struck the center divider near the Main onramp. Subsequently, it struck a pickup truck hauling wood. The truck landed on its driver’s side. Then, the sedan driver fled the scene on foot.
 
As a result, the truck driver sustained minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to Marian Regional Medical Center.
 
Also, the collision resulted in front-end damage to the sedan and the truck scattering wood and debris across the right-hand lane.
 
In the end, Santa Maria Police apprehended and arrested the sedan driver. At this point, this hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 is still under investigation.
