FRESNO, CA (November 15, 2022) — A 44-year-old man suffered injuries in a pedestrian crash on Shields Avenue on Sunday, November 13.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim walked east around 7 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Shields Avenue, east of Cornelia Avenue. Then an eastbound driver who did not notice the pedestrian struck him.
 
Reports said the pedestrian sustained major injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he undergoes medical treatment.
 
The CHP said the driver cooperated with officers and was not under the influence.
 
Authorities closed a portion of Shields Avenue during the investigation. All lanes are already open.
