CHICO, CA (August 7, 2023) — A man was injured in a motorcycle accident at Mangrove Avenue and 3rd Avenue.
 
According to Chico police, the two-vehicle crash happened around 1:10 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a woman believed to be in her 80s, driving southbound on Mangrove Avenue, attempted a left-hand turn without yielding. Although her light was green, she made her left turn and collided with a northbound motorcyclist whose light was also green.
 
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist, described as a male in his 70s, suffered major injuries. Arriving paramedics took the victim to a hospital for care. Due to the accident, authorities closed the area for 45 minutes.
