Man Struck, Killed by Garbage Truck at Johnson Canyon Sanitary Landfill in Gonzales

 
GONZALES, CA (January 16, 2023) — A man was hit and killed by a garbage truck Wednesday at Johnson Canyon Sanitary Landfill on Johnson Canyon Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal industrial incident happened Wednesday around 10:15 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a person operating a garbage truck reversed into a Gonzalez man at the landfill. The 39-year-old victim suffered fatal injuries.
 
At this time, authorities do not have the victim’s name, but an investigation into the crash should confirm any unclear details. Any witnesses with information can call the CHP.
