Man Helping Injured Dear Struck and Hurt in Hit-and-Run on Highway 68 and York Road

 
MONTEREY, CA (October 26, 2021) — Monterey police ask for the public’s help after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 68 on Thursday, October 21.
 
Reports said several drivers stopped and tried to help an injured deer in the area of Highway 68 and York Road. At around 9:05 p.m. one driver went out of his car and tried to cross Highway 68 when a vehicle struck him.
 
The impact ejected the victim into another vehicle that already stopped. Medics rushed the man to Natividad Medical Center for significant injuries.
 
The driver of the vehicle which hit the pedestrian left the area and continued westbound on Highway 68. Witnesses told officers that the vehicle was an early 2000s import sedan. Police said it may have some front-end damage.
