Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz

 
SANTA CRUZ, CA (March 6, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 1 at River Street Friday morning.
 
According to Santa Cruz police officers, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 6:15 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver heading northbound on Highway 1 struck a 44-year-old Santa Cruz man crossing the street. The unidentified pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in the accident.
 
As for the driver, he or she pulled over and cooperated with police investigators. At this time, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s corner will complete a death investigation to identify where the fault lies and other factors. The victim’s name is being withheld at this time due to next of kin notification.
