BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 26, 2023) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 34th Street near L Street.
 
According to Bakersfield Police, the hit-and-run happened around 12:58 a.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, a driver left the scene after hitting a man in the 1300 block of 34th Street. Soon after, paramedics and Bakersfield Police responded to find the pedestrian with major injuries.
 
However, in spite of trying to save him, officials pronounced him dead moments later.
 
In the investigation, authorities learned that the suspect was heading eastbound on 34th Street when the accident occurred.
