Man Killed in Dirt Bike Crash near Governor Drive in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 20, 2023) — A man died in a dirt bike accident near Governor Drive and Erlanger Street Thursday.

According to San Diego Police, the two-vehicle crash happened around 8:16 p.m. For an unknown reason, a 31-year-old man riding a 2018 KTM dirt bike at a high rate of speed did not have his lights activated. Subsequently, a westbound silver 2005 Lexus SUV turned left in front of the eastbound dirt bike, causing both cars to collide.

Moments later, paramedics arrived to find the 66-year-old woman driving the Lexus at the scene. They also found the rider, who was ejected upon impact, and took him to a local hospital where he passed away.

At the time of the report, authorities ruled out alcohol as a possible factor in the accident. However, an investigation into the crash should provide more details.
