2 Killed in 3-Car Crash on Highway 76 in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (November 20, 2023) — Two people died in a 3-car accident on Highway 76 at Canyon Drive.
 
According to Oceanside police officers, the multi-car crash happened around 7:36 p.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a driver of a northbound Mercedes sedan ran a red traffic light before an eastbound U-Haul utility truck broadsided it.
 
Due to the impact, at least one of the cars crashed into a Kia sedan in the left-turn lane of Highway 76 West.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel responded and found two Mercedes occupants deceased at the scene. At this time, officials are withholding their identity pending family notification.
 
The other involved drivers only reported minor injuries in the accident.
