Man Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 50 near 26th Street

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 18, 2022) — One man died following a pedestrian crash on Highway 50 in Sacramento on Thursday, November 17.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on the westbound lanes of Highway 20 near 26th Street.
 
CHP said they received a call about a pedestrian running from the center divide to the shoulder of the highway. Then a vehicle hit them.
 
The unidentified man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the incident.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP said drugs or alcohol did not contribute to the collision.
 
Officials closed lanes three and four on the Highway 99 offramp near the incident.
 
North Sacramento CHP advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.
