Pedestrian Suffers Critical Injuries after Hit by Car on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs, DUI Suspect Arrested

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (January 11, 2023) – A man was critically injured in a DUI pedestrian crash on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs Sunday evening on January 8.
 
The crash happened around 7:27 p.m. just south of Two Bunch Palms Trail. According to the Desert Springs Police Department, the 59-year-old male pedestrian was crossing the roadway when a passing southbound vehicle struck him.
 
First responders took the pedestrian to a local hospital with critical injuries.
 
The involved driver, a 32-year-old man, remained on scene and was not injured. Police later arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
Further investigation is underway.
