Pedestrian Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries after Hit by Pickup Truck in Redwood Village Area

 
REDWOOD VILLAGE, CA (October 25, 2022) – A man was badly injured in a pedestrian accident on University Avenue in the Redwood Village area of San Diego on Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened shortly after 7:00 a.m. on October 18 just south of 58th Street. According to the San Diego Police Department, the 28-year-old man was crossing University Avenue in a marked crosswalk when a white Chevrolet Silverado struck him.
 
As a result, the man suffered life-threatening injuries. First responders rushed him to a hospital with a subdural brain injury, lung contusion, spleen injury, and hip, pelvic and femur injuries.
 
The driver, a 31-year-old man, remained on scene and called authorities.
 
The SDPD’s Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
