Pedestrian Luzviminda Moss Dies after Mira Mesa Car Accident

 
MIRA MESA, CA (September 24, 2021) – A woman died after a pedestrian accident at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Aderman Avenue Tuesday, September 14.
 
Police identified the victim as 50-year-old Luzviminda Moss of San Diego.
 
The accident happened just before 3:00 p.m. a few blocks east of Camino Santa Fe. According to the San Diego Police Department, a vehicle traveled northbound on Aderman Avenue before making a left-handed turn onto Mira Mesa Boulevard.
 
As the vehicle was making the turn on a green light, the driver noted Moss walking southbound across Mira Mesa Boulevard in the marked crosswalk area in front of the vehicle. The car applied the brakes, however was unable to stop and struck her in the street at a slow speed.
 
The impact caused Moss to fall and hit her head on the ground. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported her to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Despite advanced life-saving measures, she died at the hospital.
 
The involved driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police. However, the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
