Huntington Beach Man Dies after Colliding His Motorcycle into SUV in Orange, Eric Granit Arrested for DUI

 
ORANGE, CA (September 27, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed and police arrested Eric Granit after a DUI crash in Orange on September 21.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:15 p.m. the 5 freeway off-ramp at The City Drive. According to the Orange Police Department, the motorcyclist ran a red light and hit the right rear passenger side of an SUV, driven by Granit.
 
The impact caused fatal injuries on the motorcyclist and he died at the scene. He was only described as a Huntington Beach man.
 
Police evaluated Granit, a 50-year-old Long Beach resident, and determined that he was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. They arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
Granit was being held on $100,000 bail, according to inmate records.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
