17-Year-Old Boy Riding E-Bike Dies after Hit by Semi Truck in Valencia

 
VALENCIA, CA (October 10, 2023) – Louie Barba was hit and killed by a semi truck in Valencia Monday morning on October 9.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:00 a.m. near the intersection of McBean Parkway and Skycrest Circle Drive. According to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at the scene, a Bud Light semi truck hit Barba who was riding an electric bicycle.
 
First responders pronounced Barba dead at the scene.
 
Barba was 17 years old from Santa Clarita, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
