Lisette Medrano Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run on Eastern Avenue [Bell Gardens, CA]

Authorities Search for Driver in Bell Gardens Hit-and-Run, Lisette Medrano Hospitalized

 
BELL GARDENS, CA (April 12, 2022) – Lisette Medrano suffered critical injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Bell Gardens, early Saturday morning.
 
The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. on April 9 in front of 6308 Eastern Avenue. According to the Bell Gardens Police Department, the 33-year-old victim was walking from the sidewalk to the driver’s side door of her parked car.
 
As she attempted to open the door to her vehicle, an oncoming vehicle clipped her. It also crashed into her car and a second parked vehicle.
 
After the crash, the driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Officers arrived and found Medrano bleeding from her head. Before she was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, she told police she was hit by what appeared to be a white SUV.
 
Police said the vehicle appears to be a white pickup truck with a makeshift wooden bed.
 
Medrano is currently in critical condition. Members of her family said she has undergone several surgeries.
 
At this time, the crash is still under investigation. Police urged anyone with information about the driver of the truck to contact them at 562-806-7600.
