Lance Erskine Among Two Killed in DUI Crash on 5 Freeway [Santa Ana, CA]

Drunk Driver Crashes into Stopped Big Rig in Santa Ana Killing His Two Passengers

 
SANTA ANA, CA (December 6, 2023) – Lance Paul Erskine was among two people who died in a DUI crash in Santa Ana early Tuesday morning on December 5.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:35 a.m. on southbound 5 Freeway at the Carmenita Road exit. According to the California Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Landon Hazelwood of Garden Grove was driving a Honda Accord when he crashed into a stopped big rig.
 
As a result of the crash, two passengers in the Honda both died at the scene.
 
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified Erskine as one of the fatal victims. He was 20 years old of Fountain Valley. The other victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
Hazelwood sustained unspecified injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
 
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
