POMONA, CA (January 4, 2024) — Khailyn Garcia died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Center Street and Garey Avenue.
 
According to sports, the fatal hit-and-run happened on New Year’s Day around 1:30 a.m. For an unknown reason, a driver of what Miguel Vega believed was a Mercedes-Benz struck his girlfriend, 23-year-old Khailyn Garcia. Rather than stopping, the Mercedes driver left the scene of the crash.
 
Shortly after, Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and took Garcia to a hospital where she passed away.
 
Before the accident, Vega and Garcia had just left a New Year’s celebration where Vega was DJing in Pomona. However, on their way home, Vega pulled over and Garcia exited the car for fresh air after having felt ill. That is when the driver struck her.
