Keith Sanbonmatsu Killed in Motorcycle Accident on First Street [Simi Valley, CA]

Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with SUV at First Street and Los Angeles Avenue

 
SIMI VALLEY, CA (July 13, 2021) – Keith Sanbonmatsu was killed in a motorcycle accident in Simi Valley Friday afternoon, July 9.
 
The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of First Street and Los Angeles Avenue. Police said Sanbonmatsu was riding his motorcycle northbound on First Street. For unknown reasons, he went directly into the path of an SUV, driven by a 17-year-old girl from Simi Valley.
 
As a result, Sanbonmatsu suffered critical injuries. Paramedics took him to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, where he died at 8:30 p.m.
 
Sanbonmatsu was a 69-year-old Arroyo Grande resident, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Neither speed nor DUI were considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
