Kathleen Hydrusko Killed in Hit-and-Run on Cactus Valley Road [Hemet, CA]

Kathleen Hydrusko Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident on Cactus Valley Road near State Street

 
HEMET, CA (February 10, 2022) — Officers identified 63-year-old Kathleen Hydrusko of Temecula as the woman killed in a crash in Hemet.
 
The incident happened on Cactus Valley Road east of State Street, near Grace Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at around 7:55 p.m. on Friday, February 4.
 
According to CHP spokesman Officer Jason Montez, someone used a black pickup to tow a black Ford Explorer. The Explorer was on a two-wheel trailer on which a car’s front wheels rest. Its back wheels were on the pavement.
 
For unknown reasons, the Explorer somehow came off the trailer. Then it rolled in the direction of oncoming traffic. Montez said that the Explorer and Hydrusko’s silver Toyota RAV4 crashed head-on. The tow driver fled the scene.
 
Medical responders arrived and pronounced Hydrusko dead at the crash site at 8:17 p.m.
 
It was unclear if anyone else suffered injuries in the crash.
 
CHP investigators did not know the make or model of the pickup. They are still looking into various witness reports to confirm the ownership of the SUV.
