Juan Bautista Killed in Three-Vehicle Accident on Vasco Road [Byron, CA]

Three-Vehicle Crash in Byron Kills 1 and Injures 3 Others

 
BYRON, CA (June 25, 2023) – Juan Rafael Bautista was killed in a three-vehicle accident in the outskirts of Byron Wednesday afternoon on June 21.
 
The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. on Vasco Road, just south of Camino Diablo. According to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, Bautista was driving a Toyota Tacoma northbound on Vasco Road. At the same time, a Dodge Ram with two occupants was traveling southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with the Toyota.
 
The impact caused the Dodge to overturn in the southbound lanes. It then collided with a Chevrolet Express that was initially traveling northbound.
 
One of the vehicles reportedly caught fire after the crash.
 
Bautista suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 47-year-old Pittsburg resident.
 
The driver of the Dodge suffered major injuries. The passenger of the Dodge and the driver of the Chevrolet both sustained minor injuries.
